How to add a device

Step 1 - Ensure the device is ready

Make sure your Zimi device is powered on and in pairing mode before attempting to add it to the app - its status light should be blue.


Step 2: Open the Add Device menu

On the Zimi Pro app version, on the home screen, tap the + (plus) icon located in the top right corner of the app. From the menu that appears, select Add Device.

On the standard Zimi app, tap the hamburger icon on the top left of the screen and then the button + Add New Device.


Step 3: Choose your pairing method

The Add Device screen will open with two options:

  • Scan for nearby devices: Tap this option to automatically search for Zimi devices in pairing mode within range. The app will display the Zimi logo and begin searching. Hold your phone near any device that is ready to pair.
  • Scan the device code: Tap this option to use your phone's camera to scan the QR code printed on your Zimi device for quick and direct pairing. This code is found underneath the fascia.


Step 4: Complete the pairing process

Once your device is detected or the QR code is scanned, follow the on-screen instructions to add the device to your home and assign it to the appropriate room or space.
